A lot of us don't realize this but it's 1942, the year the United States of America came up with their first ever war bond, and to commemorate this momentous event, Hollywood released a movie. But what made this one special? Why was it different from other wartime movies? And why should you watch it now? Well, let's take a look!1942 - A Love Story (2017) is an Indian Hindi-language romantic drama film directed by Ashim Ahluwalia. It is based on the novel '1942' by Colleen Curry. The film is produced by Sanjay Leela Bhansali and stars Rishi Kapoor, Arjun Rampal, Anupam Kher and Neetu Singh in lead roles. The film is scheduled to release on 2 April 2017.The story of this movie is about an Indian professor (Rishi Kapoor) and his American student (Arjun Rampal) who fall in love with each other during the year 1942. The World War II has just started and India is under the British Empire's rule, but this didn't stop our heroes from loving each other with all their might. This movie focus on the British India's struggle to win independence from the hands of the British Empire. This is what makes this movie truly special because not many films have explored this period of our history. And if you are a history lover, then this movie is definitely for you!The movie has two strikingly different storylines that are connected by an unlikely friendship between three men (Rishi Kapoor, Arjun Rampal and Anupam Kher). All three of them are individuals with their own past, present and future; but it is their friendship that strengthens them in this difficult time. The connection between these men creates a well-rounded story that shows the struggle of a nation as a whole. The year is 1942, and our main character Shyam (Rishi Kapoor) is a professor from India who believes that India needs to be free from British rule to have true freedom. So he protests against the British rule whenever he gets the chance. After one of his anti-British demonstrations, he is beaten up by a group of policemen and imprisoned. While being transported by train to prison, there's this young man who joins him in his compartment and they have a conversation about their lives. This young man is played by Arjun Rampal. It turns out that this young man is an American athlete Chaudhuri (Arjun Rampal) who is on his way to the States to make a fortune. Chaudhuri's father Professor Gopi Chandra (Anupam Kher) has helped the British Empire in building their rules and regulations, but he doesn't approve of their involvement with India. They are then joined by another passenger, Juddha Paul Singh (Neetu Singh), who wants to see her brother, who works for the Indian government. I remember seeing her first onscreen in The Queen of Katwe). cfa1e77820
