Seksyen 420 Kanun Keseksaan is a 1996 Malaysian film written and directed by Datin Paduka Aishah Abdul Rahman. It follows the lives of two Malay women, Aini (Lizan Zaini) and her daughter, Ayu (Raine Jawala), as they spend time away from their husband and children for nine days to reconcile with each other. The film received the Best Film Award at the 1997 Malaysia Film Festival. The Malaysian popular film Seksyen 420 is a story about a mother-daughter relationship in east Malaysia's Sabah state. It was made in 1996 by Datin Paduka Aishah Abdul Rahman who also wrote, produced and directed the production.The film stars Lizan Zaini as Aini who is a widow with a grown-up daughter, Maya (Raine Jawala), living in the forested tropical state of Sabah with her father-in-law, Elik (Ahmad Ikmal). Elik is a former soldier and temperamental patriarch who wants to make Maya his successor to the family company and has already selected his son-in-law, Ben (Dato' Paddy Gan) for this purpose. But Aini refuses to hand over her daughter and ask Ben to become the new heir. On the day after Aini and her daughter, Ayu (Raine Jawala) leave their house to spend a few days away from the city, Ben comes to visit them. Things go from bad to worse as he suggests that the four of them should live together as a family. But Aini refuses his proposal and Ben tries to make a final effort to win her over. He even brings Aini's father-in-law Elik along with him. Both men try to persuade Aini until finally she breaks down and hands over Maya. Unable to control his temper, Elik kicks Ben out of the house. As Aini is about to leave with her husband and daughter, Elik stops her and asks for a photo with all of them together as a family. But the following day when the three of them come back from their trip, they find Elik dead after an asthma attack. In her will, Elik leaves Maya as the new owner of his company and all properties in Sabah. With Maya as head of the family business, Ben finally becomes her husband and becomes part of her family through marriage.The original title was "Lebih Baik Kasih" which means "It's better to love". It was later changed to "Lebih Baik Cinta" which means "It's better to love each other".
